The 2012 Peace of Minds Yogathon was a tremendous success! Through two signature events – in Toronto and Oakville – as well as the support of participating yoga studios across the province, we raised awareness and funds for the SSO’s Youth Engagement initiatives. This year’s event totals are still being tallied as there are still many donations coming in and will be posted by March 2, 2012.
This event would not be possible without the support of many people. Pauline Caballero and Colin Matthews, the Yogathon co-chairs, put together a wonderful asana-packed day. Participants enjoyed classes taught by Power Yoga Canada, Kula Yoga, Tula Yoga, Good Yoga, Jock Yoga, Downward Dog, Yoga Vision, Youga, Yoga Network, Shunyata Yoga and De La Sol.
We’d also like to thank the sponsors for the event including the Oakville Beaver, Longo, Vegn, Tiny Devotions, Zehn Wear, Front Door Organics, Taste of Nature, Foodland, Titika Active Wear, Planet Organic, Nature's Path Organic and CJ’s Café. Participants are key to the success of any event, and this year was no exception. We’d like to recognize the top fundraisers at both the Toronto and Oakville event. Thank you to all participants and we hope to see you at next year’s event!
