SSO Applauds Roundtable Discussion on Pharmacare

The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO) commends Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Dr. Eric Hoskins’ leadership in convening national leaders in a roundtable discussion around pharmacare. The roundtable, which takes place today, June 8, 2015, is part of the Minister’s ongoing work to put pharmacare back on the national agenda, and includes Health Ministers and key experts from across Canada.

Access to timely, affordable pharmacare is an issue that significantly impacts the individuals, families, and communities that SSO works with.  We commend Minister Hoskins' unrelenting commitment to ensure that one’s ability to afford medications does not determine access to this form of treatment.

We appreciate and strongly support Minister Hoskins’ continued effort in leading this pan-Canadian discussion. Today’s roundtable is a crucial step toward improving access to pharmacare to promote the health and quality of life not just for people affected by mental illness, but for all Canadians.
