SSO Supports People Like Chris

Chris Whittaker's journey of recovery from schizophrenia has been a successful one. He has been able to accomplish so much with the proper supports. He earned his library technician diploma, and then went on to work full-time. He's also had the chance to share his story of recovery through presentations in schools and mental health facilities.

The Schizophrenia Society of Ontario (SSO) is looking out for people living with psychotic illnesses and their families through programs and services. By supporting SSO, you can create hope and raise awareness of schizophrenia as a serious mental illness.
For example, you’ll be helping to:
  • Teach caregivers the skills they need to help their loved ones through the Strengthening Families Together education group. There were 200 graduates in 2015!
  • Increase the public’s knowledge about schizophrenia through training, workshops, and community forums.
  • Create promising breakthroughs in treatments through vital research projects.
  • Provide a lifeline to those who need direct support and connection to the right services through Ask the Expert. Last year, there were 1,144 people served through this program!
Please show your support today for individuals, families and communities affected by schizophrenia and other psychotic illnesses.
