SSO Goes Green for Schizophrenia

SSO is asking you to go green for the month of May! We are going green in a major way by raising awareness and advocating for individuals and families living with schizophrenia.

We kicked off the month with Mental Health Week, a week to get loud by raising awareness and starting conversations about mental health with friends and family. SSO’s advocacy day is May 16, where we will spend the day at Queen’s Park face-to-face with key elected officials advocating for the issues that matter most to individuals and families living with schizophrenia. Throughout the month we will be active on social media sharing stories, resources and ways you can make a difference!

The month will culminate in National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day on May 24, when we encourage you to ‘go green’ for schizophrenia and post photos of you, your friends and family on social media wearing green to raise awareness and show your support. The city of Toronto is also going green for National Schizophrenia and Psychosis Awareness Day when both the CN Tower and the iconic Toronto sign in Nathan Philips Square will be lit up in green!

Leading up to advocacy day, we are asking for your help! Reach out to your MPP by writing letters and tweeting them on social media.
