Gordon MacGregor Not only is Gordon MacGregor an adventurous river rafting enthusiast, but he is also one of the top fundraisers for the Walk of Hope. Gordon participates in the Walk in tribute to his wife, Leona. In the past two years, Gordon has raised almost $4,000 for the Toronto Walk—he sent emails to his family and friends asking for pledges; he also approached people at his gym and church. When he’s not up north riding the rivers, Gordon dedicates his time to the Shortest Walk, for the Biggest Cause!
Senthil Kumaran’s Relief Org Mr. Senthil Kumaran stopped by the SSO offices with our past Yogathon Chair, Yogi Tambiraja, in October to hand deliver a cheque for $3,000 on behalf of the Senthil Kumaran’s Relief Org. Through the sale of DVD’s and his Nivaranam musical shows, Senthil was able to provide this generous donation to the SSO. “Like many of you, I always feel that donating part of our income on a regular basis ( at least 4% every year) will not only help the needy” says Sentil, “but also gives us enormous satisfaction deep in our sole.” The SSO would like to sincerely thank the Senthil Kumaran’s relief Org for their generous contribution and wish them the best of luck with all of their fundraising endeavours.
George Clapham For the past seven years, George Clapham and his dedicated committee have hosted the Mary Clapham Memorial Golf Tournament to keep alive the memory of his wife Mary, and to raise much-needed funds for SSO. George’s tournament has raised over $60,000, but he believes that the best part of the event is renewing acquaintances with many of his family and friends. “It’s surprising, but we only see some of our family once a year at this event,” says George. “The fact that so many of our family and friends make time for this event inspires our tournament committee to work hard planning for next year.” And what does the SSO say? “Good luck George and friends! Thanks for your hard work and dedication!”
