Recovery in Action
Recovery in Action (RIA) is a seven-week psychoeducation program for people living with schizophrenia or other severe and chronic mental illness designed to facilitate recovery. Based on clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of schizophrenia issued by the Canadian Psychiatric Association, RIA helps participants optimize their wellness and recovery. The program offers a mix of cognitive behavioural therapy strategies, psycho-education and skills building that helps participants take positive and responsible ownership of their recovery. To find out more information about RIA or participate, please reach out to SHwang@schizophrenia.on.ca

CBT-P for people with lived experience
Depending on where an individual is in their journey, the program uses CBT-p to focus on everything from grief and loss around aspirations and relationships; the importance of medication adherence and community supports; revisiting goal-setting; and, understanding relapse prevention and negative symptoms, like anxiety, depression and lack of motivation.
Our 7-week CBT-p based program for people living with schizophrenia called Recovery in Action works to give adults and youth living with schizophrenia the supports they need to navigate their illness.
